Wood may also have an advantage over other materials due to its natural anti-septic properties.[1] Hardwoods, which have tightly grained wood with small pores, are best. Good hardness and tight grain helps reduce scoring of the cutting surface and seepage of liquid and dirt into the surface.."kellihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08949053364898073438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5197250410230307517.post-73341555835206815622007-08-21T00:00:00.000-06:002007-08-21T00:00:00.000-06:002007-08-21T00:00:00.000-06:00Why would anyone want a wooden cutting board when ...Why would anyone want a wooden cutting board when you can just throw the jelly one in the dishwasher and know for sure that it is sanitized? If you've invested in good knives, the granate is probably something to avoid (it dulls them!). Although granate is the easiest clean.

{Lindsey R. is the expert on all things kitchen. And Real Simple's towel under the board idea is a good one as well.kellihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08949053364898073438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5197250410230307517.post-2057420386387315202007-08-20T08:15:00.000-06:002007-08-20T08:15:00.000-06:002007-08-20T08:15:00.000-06:00I love wood cutting boards! We are even considering wooden butcherblock countertops from IKEA. I love it!Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13726535086767140744noreply@blogger.com
