phew!

Halloween is OVER!! I made two of the three costumes this year.
The inspiration for the owl came from alphamom.
The inspiration for the flamingo came from a friend.

Love the flamingo! Can you tell me where you found those large pink feathers, and how you adhered them to the back of the shirt? tjmedwards[at]netzero[dot]net

Hi Jennifer,

I found the feathers at hobby lobby. I am sure if you searched pink ostrich feathers you might be able to find something similar if you don't have a hobby lobby near you.

as for securing them, I got a piece of floral foam, painted it hot pink and hot glued the wire stems of the feathers into the foam. I sewed some velcro onto the back of her shirt and glued the other half of it to the styrofoam, so it velcro-ed on and then tucked into the pettiskirt to reinforce. i hope this makes sense. let me know if you have any other questions.

Love the flamingo costume!!! My daughter has been asking to be a flamingo for Halloween, and I am totally going to steal this idea. Any tips?? And what did you use for the flamingo eyes & beak & how did you secure them to the hat??

okay, so my daughter wants to be a flamingo for halloween this year and I found your costume. It is the best one I have seen out there. Can you give me any pointers and tips on how to make it. Especially the hat and the back feathers.
love it!
